The Board extends its gratitude to Tom Unruh and Billy O'Day, recently retired board members, for their service and leadership to the Delaware soybean industry through the Delaware Soybean Board.
DSB Staff Team
The soybean checkoff requires specialized administration to oversee the funds entrusted to our care. To that end, the DSB has assembled a team to work on various aspects of DSB management.
Susanne Zilberfarb is the DSB Executive Director. She specializes in communications and management for nonprofit organizations, and has been working for the region's soybean checkoff boards since 1993. Susanne has offices in both Maryland and Virginia. Raised on a small farm in Southern Maryland, she has spent more than 15 years on the Delmarva Peninsula, working in the agricultural industry.

Sandra L. "Sandy" Davis is the DSB Financial and Compliance Coordinator. Sandy grew up on a 600-acre farm in Caroline County, Md., and began working for the soybean industry in 1980. In 1995, she was promoted to Executive Director of the Maryland, Pennsylvania and Northeast Region Soybean Boards. She handles Delaware's financial and compliance matters, including the board's biodiesel rebate program.

Jo-Ann Walston is the Delaware Department of Agriculture's marketing specialist assigned to the Delaware Soybean Board. Jo-Ann joined DDA from the Delaware Economic Development Office, with a concentration on marketing tourism.

Michelle Johnson is the Delaware Soybean Board's "Soybean Ambassador" at the Department of Agriculture. The daughter of Mike and Debbie Johnson of Harrington, Michelle is attending college in West Virginia. She was active at Lake Forest High School with the FFA. She was also Student Council president and Class of 2007 president. Michelle shows Paint horses and dairy cows and is a member of the Harrington Sunshine 4-H Club. Michelle helps DSB with administrative tasks and staffs our booth at community events.
